    ACSL6 wt Allele

Human ACSL6 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 5q31 and is approximately 205 kb in length. This allele, which encodes long-chain-fatty-acid--CoA ligase 6 protein, plays a role in fatty acid metabolism. A chromosomal translocation t(5;12)(q31;p13) of this gene with the ETV6 gene is associated with myelodysplastic syndrome with basophilia, acute myelogenous leukemia with eosinophilia, and acute eosinophilic leukemia.
