    Amla Chutney

    Ingredients

    • 4-5 Indian gooseberries (amla)
    • 1 green chili (adjust to taste)
    • 1 small piece of ginger
    • 2-3 cloves of garlic
    • Salt to taste
    • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
    • A pinch of asafoetida (hing)
    • 1 teaspoon oil

    Instructions

    • Wash and chop the amla into small pieces, removing the seeds.

    • In a blender, combine the amla pieces, green chili, ginger, and garlic. Blend into a coarse paste.

    • Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and asafoetida. Let them sizzle.

    • Add the amla paste and sauté for a few minutes.

    • Add salt to taste and cook until the mixture thickens.

    • Allow it to cool and store in an airtight container. Serve with snacks or meals.
